We left Glasgow at 8 in the morning after a rushed on-the-run sandwich for breakfast. We were pretty excited. Colin, our "bus driver and tour guide-two in one!" did his best to keep us enthusiastic but from watching the video it's pretty clear he didn't haha. Apparently in Braveheart, Mel Gibson altered history to make some battle take place in an open field when it actually involved a heavily prominent "narrow wooden bridge". When we were leaving the "Perthshire residential district", we entered the "Perth rural district, which is the rural district that belongs to the city of Perth". There once was a guy who was called "Bonnie Prince Charlie. 'Bonnie', because that's the Gaelic word for handsome or good-looking; 'Prince', because he was the grandson of ___; and 'Charlie' was his nickname because his real name was 'Charles'". Haha, he did do a good job, though... Just kept going at it and didn't get embarrassed or anything that I'm sure an Australian would've done.
I think he said we covered 300km in that one day! From Glasgow, we went up the west coast stopping at Loch Lomand and in the Highlands before cutting across the country through the Lochs and canals that join them to Loch Ness. We did a boat tour of Loch Ness. Our highest point was Inverness after which we started our journey back south, this time down the eastern side of Scotland. Jess and I had a nice moment and I felt on top of the world.
Back in the city we went to Nice 'N' Sleazy and watched this solo guitarist guy play a small gig. We were lucky because he was playing way over the arranged time so we didn't end up being late. I can't remember his name... This is the pub I bought my "Nice 'N' Sleazy" shirt from. And I'm so happy I did. Pretty sure Vicki was being a grump at the time :P
Last hurrah
