The FBi Social "launched" at Kings Cross Hotel on Friday 8th of April. It was free...
Treated myself to an expensive but mad steak and a couple James Squireses at the Dolphin Hotel in Surry Hills with Tony beforehand. Had some really good conversation with him, he seems pretty happy with how things are going right now.
I don't remember much of Tortoiseshell but they were pretty alright I think.
Belles Will Ring were very nice to us - they played a lot of Mood Patterns and no new ones. Without Aiden and with a new and less sexy bassist, they could still do no wrong and we had a great spot at the very front and in front of Lauren.
Dappled Cities played 11 songs and all of them were new except for "The Price" and "The Night Is Young At Heart"... This was a bit disappointing but I was more drunk when they were on anyway. Their new songs sound like they're coming from the same place as Zounds. Increasingly more filled out. Interestingly, Tim seems to be doing most of the vocal work these days too.
Photographers are so annoying... they always just shove their camera out, snap without looking, look at what they got, decide it's shit, and repeat the process until they get one they think they'll be able to edit enough. "A different lens is not going to help you" to the tune of "Mad Love" or "Park Benches" haha. And the one with the beanie got so annoyed at us touching her beanie ears.
I was pretty impressed by the place. It has a good vibe, it has heaps of levels. Hopefully it takes a long time for it to become over popular.
Got home at like 2-3am and watched 2 episodes of the Office before crashing.
